EUHR Solana condemns yesterday's attack in Mogadishu

Brussels - Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), strongly condemns the bomb attack yesterday in Mogadishu, in which some twenty people were killed, most of whom were women, and dozens of others were wounded.
The High Representative extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the Somali authorities, and his support to the injured. This attack takes places as an agreement has just been reached in Djibouti between the Transition Federal Government and the Alliance for Re-liberation of Somalia. Such an agreement lays down the basis for a sustainable reconciliation, which Somalia so badly needs after more than twenty years of conflict.Javier Solana calls upon those who still have not done so to join the process, for the benefit of Somalia and its civilian population that is longing for peace, security and prosperity.
