Ex-President to play 'neutral role' in Puntland election

GAROWE, Somalia Dec 30 (Garowe Online) - Somalia's former president, Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, has assured a group of opposition candidates in his native region of Puntland that he will play a 'neutral role' in the January 2009 election, Radio Garowe reports.
On Monday, Mr. Yusuf received a massive homecoming in Garowe, the capital of Puntland.
