Modern-day pirates plunder African coast

Pirates. The word conjures up images of peg-legged, eye-patched swashbucklers sailing the high seas, plundering for treasure. In reality, piracy is making a dangerous comeback and these outlaws don’t resemble the characters from the “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Instead, pirates operating off the coast of Somalia in the Gulf of Aden use global positioning satellites, rocket propelled grenades, grappling hooks and speed boats to capture and hold hostage ships off the coast. These modern day pirates are becoming more sophisticated and more successful.
