Ethiopian troops pull out bases in Mogadishu for the second day

MOGADISHU -Ethiopian troops have vacated from Stadium Mogadishu, their biggest military base in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Wednesday, Residents say they have witnessed many Ethiopian troops leaving from their biggest military bases in Mogadishu like Mogadishu Stadium, Hisbiga Centre and Falorenza intersection, all bases of Ethiopian troops in Mogadishu for the second day after two years.The sounds of heavy gunfire could be heard around Faleranza intersection where reports say that the Islamist Insurgents targeted attacks to the withdrawing Ethiopian troops with their moving vehicles crossing on that area but in response for those attacks several mortars have landed into Bakara market but no casualties have been reported yet.Mogadishu has been the centre of violence for the last two years.Ethiopian troops arrived in Somalia in 2006 to help the interim government oust Islamists from the capital.The Horn of Africa nation has been plagued by chaos and clan-based civil war since when hawiye Warlordism, terrorism.
