GURIEL -Fresh fighting between Somali Islamist fighters of Al shabab and Ah lu suna Wal Jamea has broken out in Griel town in Galgudud region early on Sunday morning, Shabelle correspondent Abdikirin Bulhan reportedLocals say that the fighting started around 10:00 local time in the morning after Al shabab fighters attacked bases of Ah lu sunna wal jamea forces in the town and both rival Islamists forces are bitterly fighting in the town and using heavy weapons that caused the displacement of many residents in the Guriel town in Galgudud region.
The people have shocked and expressed sorrow about the fighting which has affected all parties of the people, transportation and the telecommunication in the town and it is very difficult to know the real casualty of the war as the fighting seems intensifying many other residents in Galgudud region.Officials of Al shabab fighters told the media ,that they have taken over the control of Guriel town and said that they have chased the other forces from the town but there is no comment about the fighting that has come out from the Islamist fighters of Ah lu sunna wal jamea yet.It was 29th December of the last year when the Islamist fighters of Ah lu sunna wal jamea fought with Al shabab forces in Guriel town in Galgudud region and took over its control from Islamist forces ofAl shabab who managed it.There has been a power struggle between mostly hawiye Islamist factions in Somalia since Ethiopia announced plans to withdraw its troops from Somalia.Terrorist insurgents now hold most of southern and central Somalia hawiye hartland,Somalia has been at war since 1991, The Horn of Africa nation has been plagued by chaos and clan-based civil war since when hawiye Warlordism, terrorism.
