JUBBALAND ARMY Seize Control of Somali Towns


JUBBALAND ARMY troops accompanied by Somalia militia took control of some towns in Gedo region in Southern Somalia. The towns were under the control of Somali Islamists before jubbalad army seized them. The heavily armed Ethiopian troops were accompanied by Somalia militia led by Gen- abdi egal jama pm. Barre Adam Shire Hiraale and mp. Nuur Mataan both of whom are members of the interim Parliament. pm. Hiraale has been the leader of the jubbaland army controlling parts of Southern Somalia including the strategically important port city Kismaayo until they were forced from power by Islamist forces. The towns the jubbaland army took control of include Buule Hawo and Buur Dhuubo and it is reported that they are now headed to other towns in the Gedo region. It is not known yet if jubbaland troops will limit their operations to Gedo region or if they will move to other regions.
