Presidential elections to be held on Friday 30 Jan
The new MPs of the Djibouti-based [ARS]\(icu)\\(usc)will be sworn in, in the coming new hours. The new members will participate in the election of the president of national unity government.The current Speaker Sheikh Adan Modobe who is also the acting president will convene a meeting for the house at around 1000am local time. The new 275 members of the ARS will attend the meeting and will be sworn in before the other parliamentarians.Meanwhile, Abdirahman Abdishakur, who represents the ARS in the Djibouti talks said presidential elections will be held on FridayHe urged the elites, business community, politicians and the Somali people to support whatever that comes out of Djibouti talks. He also urged them to support and work with whoever that will be elected as Somali president on the same Friday so as to resolve the current problem.Abdishakur urged the armed factions to lay down their weapons and join the national unity government that will be formed in Djibouti. He urged the Somali people to isolate any group that will not support the Djibouti peace.
