Explosions wound AU soldiers in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU--Two blasts were heard in Mogadishu on Wednesday and residents said the explosions targeted African Union peace keepers known as AMISOM and Somali police forces who were checking mines on the road to the airport. Separately, reports from southern Somalia say fighting is ongoing in Rabdhure town where al-Shabab Terrorist militia controls. The fighting started after pro government soldiers attacked the al- Shabab. The two Terrorist militias have been fighting in the region since the Ethiopian troops Withdraw from Somalia in January. also..Two people have been killed and three others have been injured in Beledweyne town about 300 kilometers(180miles) north of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, witnesses said on Tuesday. Witnesses said the people died after forces from the Islamic Courts Union clashed in Hawl-wadag neighborhood in Beldweyne in central Somalia. One fighter from the Islamic Courts Union was confirmed dead and one civilian was caught in the cross fire. It is not known the reason behind the clashes with in the Islamic Courts Union. The town is under the control of the Islamic Courts Union. The Islamists that control the town support the new government led by president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed.
