Somali talaban president to travel Kenya

MOGADISHU --Somalia’s talaban president Sharif Sheik Ahmed is to travel neighbouring Kenya Sunday to have meeting with Kenyan leaders in Nairobi, officials said. The president will also travel to Kampala, Ugandan capital and the Burundian capital Bujumbura. president SharifThe trip of the president comes as there are 3,500 peace keepers from Uganda and Burundi in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. The African Union peacekeepers, who are constantly under attack from Islamist insurgents, are the only foreign troops left in the country after Ethiopian soldiers pulled out last month. mostly hawiye Islamic clerics and terrorist sympasizer hawiye Clan council have been demanding the withdrawal of the AU troops in the capital, but it is not known whether the president will talk to the African leaders about the issue of troops or not. Qatar is trying to mediate between the Islamist opposition and the Somali national unity government.
