Somalia: ‘New African peacekeepers secretly enter’: Indho Ade

A former warlord a (habar-gidir hawiye ) clan with close ties to Somalia’s powerful Islamist movement has claimed that new African Union peacekeepers (AMISOM) ‘secretly entered’ the country over the past week, Radio Garowe reports.
Yusuf Mohamed Siad “Indho Adde,” the ex-warlord of Lower Shabelle region, told reporters Monday that the new peacekeepers came from Uganda and Burundi to reinforce a 4,000-strong AU contingent currently serving in Mogadishu.“Military transport planes delivered 1,820 new soldiers since March 17,” Indho Ade claimed.He accused Somalia’s new unity government of “violating” a declaration by Somali Muslim scholars, who called for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of AMISOM peacekeepers within 120 days, starting on March 1.Indho Ade declined to answer a question regarding where the new soldiers were stationed in Mogadishu, with AMISOM currently holding positions at the airport, seaport, the old university and the KM4 junction.Somali government officials and AMISOM commanders ..more.http://www.garoweonline.com/artman2/publish/Somalia_27/Somalia_New_African_peacekeepers_secretly_enter_Indho_Ade.shtml
