The people of Somalia are enduring unprecedented suffering as they flee intense fighting and battle famine. Thousands of people are trying to flee the worst fighting seen in the Somali capital Mogadishu in past few years. Civilians have been caught in battles between Islamist militants and government forces. More than a million Somalis have been displaced by the fighting.
Their plight has been made even worse by the country's worst drought in a decade.
Around 3.5 million people are suffering from malnutrition and are in need of food aid.
