Islamic militants in Somalia so far this year have killed eight Christians. Two of them were sons of a Christian leader says Reuters Africa and Compass Direct News.Nine of the 10 victims were beheaded. The killings come from extremists al Shabaab insurgents wanting to topple Somalia's West-leaning transitional government and enforce sharia (Islamic) law.Somalia's Christians comprise less than 1 percent of the nation's 9.8 million people.Compass says al Shabaab has ties to al-Qaida which is monitoring converts from Islam and is intent on "cleansing" Christians "especially where Christian workers had provided medical aid" through a former Christian-operated hospital.
