Puntland Regional Government Minister Warsme Abdi Shirwa Has Been Assassinated in central town,Gunmen kill minister in Somali region

GAROWE(TF.SF)— Regional Government Puntland’s information minister has been killed in Galka’yo, the regional capital of Mudug region in central Somalia, officials and witnesses said on Wednesday. Witnesses said, Warsme Abdi Shirwa known as (Seefta Banaanka), has been assassinated by Two Hawiye jehadist gunmen in Galka’yo town. Abdirahman Mohamed Farole, the president of Puntland State in north eastern Somalia called emergence meeting for his cabinet in Garowe to talk about the assassination of the information minister. It is not known the reason behind the killing of the minister. Warsme becomes the first Puntland minister to be killed in Puntland regions since the formation of the administration in 1998.
Puntland government does not fully control Galka’yo town.
