TFG claims victory over Mogadishu fighting

MOGADISHU (TF.SF) – the transitional federal government has claimed victory over heavy fighting that continued overnight until Tuesday morning in Mogadishu, officials told media on Wednesday.Sheik Abdirisak Mohamed Qeyloy, the spokesman troops of the transitional government held press conference in Mogadishu talked about the fighting between the Islamist fighters and government soldiers continued around Makka Al-mukarrama Street in the capital in over the past 24 hours.The spokesman said that the Islamist forces had attacked Dabka intersection, a base for the TFG troops saying that they had the upper hand of the fighting adding that they inflicted casualties to the other forces against them.Asked about heavy shelling landed into Bakara market during the clashes, Sheik Abdirisak denied the statement saying that there were shelling insisting those reports were false.The statement of TFG troops’ spokesman comes as there has been heavy fighting between the transitional government troops and Islamist forces in over the 24 hours in Mogadishu.
