Five die in Somalia mortar attack

At least five civilians were killed in the Somali capital when a mortar shell hit their house on Saturday. The victims were members of the same family, including children. They had gathered for their meal at the end of the day's Ramadan fast. The attack began shortly after Ali Ahmed Jama, Somalia's foreign minister, said the transitional government was negotiating with rebel fighters. Mr Jama said he had persuaded some insurgents to join the administration.
According to the BBC's Mohammed Olad Hassan, Saturday's explosion left several others in the house seriously injured. Meanwhile, at least 19 civilians were injured in fighting around Mogadishu, one of whom later died on the way to hospital, the French news agency AFP reports.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8240527.stm
