Prominent businessman and his security guard were assassinated in the port town of Kismayu 500 km south of Mogadishu, witnesses said on Monday. Residents said the deceased businessman who was also a clan elder named, Daud Dirir, was killed in the town on Monday afternoon by al-shabaab gunmen armed with pistols. The gunmen have also shot dead a security guard of the elder.The man and three other elders from Nairobi reached Kismayo recently. Al Shabaab militants who control the town disagreed with the arrival of Daud Dirir and his comrades in Kismayu.
Some of al Shabaab leaders ordered the deportation of the men from the town but other leaders rejected the decision.There is tension in Kismayo today after the killing of the clan elder and his security guard. Clan militias loyal to the deceased man started mobilizing in the suburbs of the town. Dirir becomes the second businessman killed in Kismayo since Hizbul Islam and al Shabaab fought in the town last month.

Dirir to go out of the town but he rejected and later they killed him al Shabaab militia in Kismayu already killed many people of different idea. Famous politicians and traders were among those killed. Some residents in the town, especially the traders, traditional elders and religious men had begun to flee from the town as they fear similar killing, un named source in Kismet told TF.SF Al Shabaab militia spokesman Sheikh Hassan Ya’qub Ali had recently announced that his militias are completely prepared war against the other rival group of Hisbul Islam and accused them of wanting to devastate the Islamic administration in the region.
