Al-Shabaab seize aid agencies compound
Al-Shabaab, the Al-Qaeda linked militias have taken over compounds of three aid agencies in southern Somalia on Tuesday.The militias seized the compounds of the World Vision and DBG which has link with Diakonia aid agency; the group banned three Christian aid agencies to operate in southern Somalia and the areas under their control including large parts of Mogadishu.The offices were in Mogadishu, Middle Jubba, Bay and Bakool regions in southern Somalia, they took all the equipments such computers and other properties for the agencies.Diakonia and World Vision agencies were among three Christian Aid Agencies banned by Al-Shabaab militias to work in southern Somalia, the group accused the agencies of actively propagating Christianity in Somalia."Al-Shabaab entered the office of World Vision aid agency in Bay, and they took everything in the office, they informed the employees to leave the area," a witness who sought to be anonymity told TF.SF .Al-Shabaab militias control southern regions of Somalia and also huge parts of the capital, previously they banned UN agencies to operate the areas under their control, after disagreement between the two parties how to help the people."Al-Shabaab militias are now in DBG compound in Mogadishu, they entered forcibly the office late on Monday afternoon and took over," said one of the DBG officers who requested to be unnamed cause of security.The militias abolish the Agency to give free health, education and aid to the civilians.Al-Shabaab previously seized UN compounds in Bay, Bakool, Lower and Middle Jubba regions in southern Somalia, after they banned them to operate in southern Somalia.
