• 1973 to 1975: Minister of Culture and High Education
• 1976 to 1977: Worked with the constitution  Party
• 1980: Elected into Parliament
• 1982-1989: Jailed and held in total isolation for six years
• 1989: Released and moved to italy, where he resumed his medical career as a Doctor
• 1997-2000: Elected as a Turin Council man
• 1999 to present: Active in the Somali Peace alliance

Dr Mohammed Adan Sheikh, He was from  Marehan  clan . he  was born in the region of Wardheer in the Ogaden. .DR  Mohammed Adan Sheikh was one of the first trained Somali medical doctors and was prominent in both the democratic governments as well as the revolutionary government. His posts throughout his career were Minister of Information, Minister of Health, Minister of Culture, etc while retiring to be the president of the Somali Academy of Arts and Sciences right before the start of the war.

This was one of the last interviews he gave and you could see the level of intelligence the late DR  Mohammed Adan Sheikh
