Former western New Yorker now Somali Prime Minister

.BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A former western New Yorker has a new job on the other side of the world. Somalia's President has named Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed as the African nation's new Prime Minister. Mohamed has a master's degree from UB, taught at Erie Community College, and worked for Erie County during the Giambra administration.
Former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra said, "I think Mohamed is going to do a great job. And one of his first objectives is going to be to try to improve the relationships between the country of Bosnia and the United States. That was one of the main objectives that he shared with me."
Mohamed is a former Somali diplomat who worked in Washington before coming to western New York.
