Mogadishu (TF.SF) The newly appointed prime minister in Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo said on Monday he will not form the cabinet in the formula of 4.5 power sharing system which was dealt by the former governments.
Speaking to supporters in Mogadishu today, Mr. Farmajo stated in strong words that he will be naming effective ministers with qualifications regardless of their clans ignoring the clan-based approach of 4.5 (four main clans and one minor clan) that seen by some of the minority people as illegal political scale.
"People are equal; there will be no 4.5 formula. I will select ministers for their educational backgrounds who are committed to carry out the national interest rather than private interest." Mr Farmajo said. "I ever used to work out in the projects to protect the minority people and I am still defending the rights of the minorities."
Analysts say if this move is introduced in Somalia, it might draw rebellion by any main clan that does not see itself in the cabinet
