The President of Somalia his Excellency Sheikh Shariff Sheikh Ahmed has met with his Bujumbura counterpart his Excellency Pierre Nkurunziza.

The President was flanked by some members of the Somali cabinet of ministers such as the minister for information Hon: Abdi Noor Jama.we had the opportunity to reach the minister for information via the cable while he was in Bujumbura.“From our flight from Entebbe it was mandatory that we shall not miss to divert our destination to Bujumbura before coming home, and one of the main reason why we did so is very apparent, the government of Burundi is the second country in Africa which has deployed its troops to Somalia where some radical Islamist Al-Qaida linked faction called Al-Shabab has created instability and insecurity, so we should not miss to attribute Burundi fir its devotedly brotherly efforts in Somalia in such a time” said the minister fort information.

The heads of the two nations profoundly discussed about the current situation of Somalia.On his side the President Pierre of Burundi has acknowledged that Burundian soldiers will not withdraw from Somalia until stable functional government is obtained.“The relationship between the two countries has a very long history to tell, and I assure that our men on the ground will be there until total reliable peace is achieved in Somalia, this is the time to pay Somalia, One Good Turn Deserves Another” President Pierre of Burundi. Before his arrival in Bujumbura the President of Somalia has stopped in the Ugandan capital city Kampala where he has also met with his Ugandan counterpart his Excellency Museveni.Uganda became the first African country to officially send troops into Somalia in the name of African Union Mission in Somalia [AMISOM] than it was Burundi that courageously followed. Currently there are over 9,000 African Union troops in Somalia and these troops are merely from the only mention countries in Africa [Uganda and Burundi.

Rwanda: Nation Pledges Support to Somalia


Kigali — Rwanda has pledged to provide multi sectoral support to the Government of Somalia, as contribution to the country's efforts to overcome the problems caused by war.The agreement was reached, during a meeting between President Kagame and President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed of Somalia, held, yesterday, in Kigali.President Sheikh Ahmed also briefed President Kagame on the latest developments in his country.Rwanda will assist in capacity building of Somalia's public service and training of security forces, as well as, support Somalia's bid to join the East African Community.President Sheikh Ahmed and his delegation visited the Kigali Memorial Centre and joined Rwandans in marking the 17th commemoration of the Genocide against Tutsis.In a brief statement after the visit, President Sheikh Ahmed commended the progress Rwanda has made over the last 17 years, and expressed hope that genocide never happens again.
The Somali leader also met and held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo and the Minister of Defense, General James Kabarebe.President Sheikh Ahmed and his delegation are in Rwanda after visiting Uganda and Burundi - the two countries with peace keeping troops in Somalia, under the auspices of the African Union.
