Somali presidents, Ethiopian PM meet in Addis AbabaThe president of Somalia, who paid a key visit to neighboring Ethiopia, has hold meeting with Premier Meles Zenawi in Addis Ababa.
Source closed to the president confirmed hat the two officials discussed a number of issues including the bilateral relations between the tow eastern African nations.Reports also suggested the insecurity and violence in Somalia were also mooted in the meeting.The president of Somalia, whose mandate is due to end up in August, asked the Ethiopian government to help TFG strengthening peace making efforts, fighting against Al shabaab and humanitarian issues.All meetings and discussions by Somalia official with Ethiopian government ended in mutual understanding.
Early today, a distinguished delegation led by the embattled president of Somali interim federal government of Somalia on Thursday flew to Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa for talks and discussions about Somalia-Ethiopia ties.
Raskamboni Fighters Say Al Shabaab Fighters Give in
Dhobley(tf.sf) — As battles between Al shabaab fighters and Somali forces backed by moderate Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ and Raskamboni are continuing to rage many parts in the country, a number of Al shabaab fighters defected to Raskabmobi group, an official said Thursday.Abdifatah Farah, head of Raskamboni fighters for military operations said that nearly 15 Al shabaab fighters surrendered to them in Dhobley.He indicated that the defectors were cordially welcomed in the border town of Dhobley in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia.He noted that they were very young boys, adding that were lured by foreign militants and later absorbed their aim is not defending the Islam.However, no immediate statements about the claim of Raskamboni group were available from Al shabaab officials in the region.

Government carries out operation in Bakool

Soldiers of the TFG in Bakool province have today carried out security operations in a bid to ameliorate the security issues.The soldiers started the operation at El-Barde and Aato where some elders from the region were injured in a landmine blast.Some officials carrying out the operation told terror free somalia that they have rounded up some people who are feared to be part of security problem and the attacks. They were already taken to police station in Eel-Barde and arrested.
Al-Shabab is accused to have planted mines in Bay and Bakol regions to restrict advancing Ahlu Sunna and TFG troops.
