MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) — An American fighting for an al-Qaida linked militant group in wartorn Somalia is threatening to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden.Omar Hammami, known as Abu Mansur al-Amriki, or "the American," said Wednesday that bin Laden's death does not mean the end of attacks against U.S. interests.Hammami is among hundreds of foreign fighters in the ranks of the al-Shabab, Somalia's most dangerous militant group, that is trying to topple the country's weak U.N.-backed government.

Al-Shabab carried out its first international attack last July in Uganda,killing 76 people watching the World Cup final in two bomb explosions.Hammami grew up in the middle-class town of Daphne, Alabama, before joining the militants in 2007.

MOGADISHU (tf.sf) – The high ranking Al shabaab officials on Wednesday threatened that they will launch attacks against the United Statesgovernment in retaliation for the killing Sheikh Osama Bin Laden, the founder and leader of al Qaeda network which declared jihad against the US a decade ago.

After well organized lengthy meeting held in Afgoye town, south of Mogadishu, Al shabaab leaders have discussed how they could revenge for Sheikh Osama Bin Laden who was killed by US Special forces in an operation in Pakistani city of Abbottabad.

Sheikh Muqtar Robow Ali Abu Mansur, an Al shabaab official addressed at meeting saying that Bin Laden played a key role in what he called the ongoing jihad in Somalia against the transitional federal government and African Union peacekeepers in Mogadishu.

Abu Mansur went on to say that the deceased Bin Laden has a great reputation in Al shabaab, noting they will launch reprisal attacks after his death.

Also, Sheikh Fu’ad Mohammed Khalaf and Hassan Dahir Aweys, two Al shabaab distinguished figures joined their voices the increasing war against TFG and AMISOM.

For his part, Abu Mansur Al Ameriki, an American citizen in Al shabaab leadership, also addressed at meeting, spelling out that American government spearheaded by Obama has failed in their politics and said that that will continue fight against US with the killing their leader.
