Govt repeats it is committed clearing Al shabaab from Somalia.Somali PM in New York to attend UNSC meeting

MOGADISHU (tf.sf) – The interim federal government of Somaliaon Monday repeated that it is still committed clearing out Al shabaab movement fromSomaliacompletely.Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah, Somalia’s minister said in a news conference held in the seaside Mogadishu that the government is planning to take a huge offensive in an attempt to dislodge what he called terrorist fighters.He stated publicly that Somali forces reached tangible progress in recent battles with AL shabaab in southern Somalia and Mogadishu.He said that Somali military forces will continue the struggle with Al shabaab, which US alleges to be al Qaeda’s proxy in the horn of Africa nation.
Somali PM in New York to attend UNSC meeting 
Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, the prime minister of Somali interim federal government is New York to attend a meeting on Somalia by the united Nation Security Council.During the meeting, the UNSC will discuss issues including the security situation in Somalia, assisting TFG forces and African Union peace keepers in Somalia who are at with Al shabaab fighters.Somali officials in New York told Shabelle that changing AMISOM mandate from peacekeeping to peacemaking forces will be mooted in the conference.
The UNSC meeting on Somalia is due to open in the hours to come.
