The new head of the FBI in Minneapolis tells The Associated Press that counterterrorism and health care fraud will be among his top priorities.
Donald Oswald was appointed special agent in charge of the FBI's Minneapolis Division earlier this month. He sat down with the AP on Tuesday. He will oversee the FBI's operations in Minnesota and the Dakotas.
When asked about the case of Somali men who left Minnesota to possibly fight with al-Shabab, he said the investigation continued. He describes the case as a big spider with lots of legs and moving parts. He plans to continue the FBI's outreach into the Somali community, saying that building trust is key.
The 52-year-old joined the FBI in 1992 and served in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and FBI headquarters.
