Roadside bomb kills one; 10 captured in southern Somalia operations

LUQ (TF.SF) – At least one person has been killed in a roadside bomb in Luq tow in southern Somalia witnesses and local residents said on Thursday.The bomb exploded as a rural man on donkey carter was traveling a village just outside of Luq town.No one has claimed the responsibility of the bomb attack, but Al shabaab is widely believed to have been the mastermind.In a related story, forces loyal to Somali interim federal government have conducted search operations in the town of Luq. In an interview with   with a local radio station, Diyad Abdi Kalil, a government military officer said at least 10 people were arrested during the operations.He said the apprehended suspects were accused of having links with Al shabaab movement which declared its commitment to dethrone Somalia’s internationally recognized government.He noted the operations were aimed at assuring the security and tranquility of the town and the region in general.
