Somalia's Al Qaeda-backed militant group detained 7 businessmen in town of Afgoye for not paying "jihad tax"

The Somalia's Al Qaeda-backed militant group  have detained seven businessmen in Afgoye in Lower Shabelle after they refused to pay some amount of money which they said was for helping Al Shabab.
Four of the businessmen were taken away from Afgoye market while the other three were detained yesterday. Torture was meted out to one of them as reports confirmed.
The businessmen who were sellers of raw food said they refused to report to a base where they were supposed to pay money to Al Shabab The businessmen told Al Shabab of their inability to pay the stipulated amount of money.
The detention of the businessmen was a worry to the elders in Afgoye terming it as transgression.Sheikh
