Govt: We started new plans in combating Al shabaab

MOGADISHU (tf.sf) – The transitional federal government of Somalia on Thursday said it is in its last preparations and plans to purge Al shabaab from the regions they control.The deputy minister of defense for Somali government, Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig said in an exclusive interview with local radio  that newly trained government forces reached at Garbaharey town, the regional capital of Gedo region in southern Somalia.Mr. Hidig said the forces of the government will take into effect new war strategies in the regions of southern Somalia. The official didn’t specify which kind of plans will launch in battling Somalia’s powerful Al shabaab.The statement of the government comes as it battles Al shabaab in parts of Gedo and Lower Jubba regions as well as Mogadishu.Al shabaab still controls large swathes in southern and central Somalia and intends to impose its Wahabi based ideology throughout war-torn horn of African nation
