Somali troops backed by Kenyan forces on Thursday seized several rebel bases in Gedo region without any confrontation, officials said.The allied forces briefly rumbled into rebel held areas between El-wak, Beled-hawo and Garbaharey in efforts to flush out rebel fighters in area.Confirming the incident, TFG military official, Osman Sheikh Abdi, told Terror Free Somalia that Somali troops backed by Kenyan troops seized control of rebel bases in Gadon-dawe, Khadijo-Hajji, El-Adde and El-Gudud after rebel fighters emptied all positions in the area.He said the allied forces immediately took over the rebel bases with out firing any single shot following militants retreat from the area.This comes a day after the allied forces have reportedly engaged a fierce gun battle with rebel fighters, 30 km from rebel held town of Bardere, where over ten militants were reportedly killed.
