Somali troops are engaging in a house-to-house search 'Operation Free Shabelle'Roundup Operations Continue Into Second Weekend

Last week troops from Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and African Union Peacekeepers (AMISOM) launched Operation Free Shabelle (OFS) in pursuit of al-Shabaab Islamist fighters in Somalia's Lower Shabelle region.
The result of this military offensive was the seizure of the strategic town of Afgoye, a former al-Shabaab stronghold 30km northwest of Mogadishu.   OFS is expected to continue outside Afgoye, according to government and AU officials...
