Two people including a police officer were killed and two others injured when government soldiers allegedly opened fire on supporters of the immediate former TFG Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmajo) who converged at Sayidka Square after Farmajo’s return to Mogadishu earlier this morning.

Eyewitnesses told terror free somalia military officers in a saloon car popularly known as Leyla Alawi in Somalia arrived at Sayidka square where pro-Farmajo were holding a gathering in support of this candidacy in effort to disperse the crowd pitching tent at the Square.

They say the soldiers in the car were barred from dispersing the crowd by a police officer stationed at the square to keep law and order, forcing them to open fire killing him on the spot and injuring two journalists working for terror free somalia.

An elderly man was also killed during the incident.

The crowd melted into disarray as participants ran helter-skelter following the shootout that claimed the lives of two people and injured the two journalists.

The gathering started shortly after the former Prime Minister and his entourage arrived in Mogadishu after declaring his candidacy.
