At least seven are reported to have been killed in Kismaayo following an operation by the security officers of the interim Jubba administration a Former Hizbul-Islam commander .
The massive operation by the Jubba security agents is as a results of the killing of one of their senior security official in Kismaayo late yesterday.
The official who is named Isse Kambooni is reported to have been assassinated by a former Al-Shabaab soldier who just few months ago surrendered to the administration.
A lot of people are reported to have been detained by the soldiers following their operation. Reports also add that the indiscriminate shooting of the soldiers resulted the death of five civilians, while two others were deliberately shot by the soldiers of the administration on suspicion.
Local residents report that the operation had an effect on the business activities in the town, adding that huge number of soldiers are seen patrolling the streets.
“The number of people who died are seven, among them were deliberately shot after they have been suspected of being Al-Shabaab members, others also died as a result of the indiscriminate shooting of the soldiers,” a news reporter who is stationed in Kismaayo told Mogadishu media.
Senior Jubba officials told terrorfreesomalia that they will give a full report after the operations are finished. Adding that the detainees will be brought to court.
