60 years old Norwegian Suicide car bomb kills 20 soldiers in central Somalia town

At least six soldiers of the AMISOM forces from the Djibouti contingent were killed in the attack.
According to local sources, the suicide car bomb with no lights was seen suddenly as it approached Hotel Camalow as most of the hotel guards and security officials were sleeping.  Heavy explosion was heard as then a fierce gun battle followed, the locals said.
Al Shabab militant group claimed the attack saying the attack was well planed aimed to destroy the invaders of AMISOM those seized the town last week in non resistances operation.
AMISOM Spokesman Col. Ali Aden Houmed has confirmed the death of three Djiboutian soldiers and three Somali soldiers in the attack.
Somalia government forces and the AMISOM troops took the town of Buloburde is 125km from Beletweyne in South Central Somalia from Al Shabab on Thursday last week.   The town was described an al Shabaab stronghold and their supply nerve center.

Mogadishu (terrorfreesomalis) – A heavy explosion rocked the city of Bulo-burde where after Al-Shabaab fighters stormed the city engaging the recently arrived Djiboutian forces in a fierce gun battle which began at midnight and lasted until the early hours of the morning.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by car bomb which was detonated by the driver as he approached the popular hotel ‘Amalo where several high ranking Djiboutian & Somali commanders were believed to have been residing as they turned part of the hotel in to an operations room. The explosion was immediately followed by heavily armed Al-Shabaab fighters storming the hotel and swarming the city which initiated an intense gun battle between the Islamists and the combined Djiboutian-Somali forces present in the city.
Several sources have stated that the death toll is believed to be in the dozens, including high ranking Somali & Djiboutian forces such as the Head of Military operations in Hiran for the Somali forces Col. Mohamed Amin Jesow. However, according to Al-Shabaab’s official military spokesman “over thirty Djiboutian & Somali apostate forces where killed and  more than eighty injured”.


On the other hand, according to Yusuf Daboged, a Somali official & former governor of Hiran province, who was believed to have been in the hotel attack and injured, only twelve soldiers had been killed in the attack while twenty others were injured in fending off the Al-Shabaab attack last night.

This attack comes amidst a series of attacks perpetrated by Al-Shabaab fighters inside the city of Bulo-burde after withdrawing from it several days ago when Djiboutian forces arrived at the city.
Al-Shabaab’s military spokesman Sheikh Abdulaziz Abu Mus’ab boasted of a having trapped the Djiboutian forces inside Bulo-burde and of a change of strategy whereby “the enemy will be bled to death”, this could be very well the beginning the fulfillment of such a threat.
