Somalia recalls its ambassador to Kenya over diplomat arrest

The federal government of Somalia has recalled its ambassador to Kenya after the Kenyan Police arrested it’s Consular on Friday.
 
Following an emergency meeting of cabinet ministers on Saturday, the government decided to recall its ambassador to Kenya Mohamed Ali Noor alias Ali America for consultations over what it termed as ‘’unlawful’’ detention of its diplomatic staff.
Minister for Information Mustafa Ahmed Dhuhulow has told the Journalists after the meeting that on-going Eastleigh Crackdown on Somali refugees was also top on the agenda.
Somali Parliament Speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari described Kenyan’s attitude as violation of international law and disrespect to its diplomatic relations.
Kenyan Government has yet to comment on the arrest of Consular general who was later released after more than five hours in police custody.
The Somali government had been earlier criticized for not responding to the mass arrest of its citizens in Kenya.
Kenya and Somalia have enjoyed good bilateral relations that dates back to 1960’s despite the civil war that broke out in 1990’s however analyst say this latest diplomatic row is not expected to change the ties.
