Somali PM meets with Italian foreign military operation commander

A press statement from office of the prime minister says, “Italy has our friend for longtime. Italian government supported us many occasions. Our meeting was aimed smoothing bilateral relationship. They distributed dress and trainings to our forces. At this time military experts from Italy are in Somalia so they help us training programs”, the PM said.

Somali defense minister, Mohamed Hasan Hamud, briefed the outcome of the meeting saying, “General Batarooni, Italian foreign military operation commander visited us in Mogadishu. Somali Prime Minister and general Batarooni discussed how to develop or increase Italian military support to Somalia”.

“There are military experts in Somalia. They train our forces. The most important point of the discussion was combining military relationship. The official confirmed that Italy doubled its support to Somalia”, he added.
