ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia—Ethiopian police say they have arrested a suspect in the death of a young American diplomat from Columbus.
A spokesman for Ethiopia’s federal police says the suspect was arrested Tuesday in the country’s remote north. Police did not identify the suspect.
Brian Adkins was found dead in his home earlier this month in Addis Ababa. The 25-year-old was serving as a consular officer at the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia.
He was a 2001 graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School in suburban Columbus, Ohio, winning a four-year scholarship to George Washington University in Washington, where he also attended graduate school.
Ethiopian officials have released little information about Adkins’ death, except that it appeared to be the result of foul play.
