Shabab is behind the hidden assassinations, says Islamist spokesman

MOGADISHU The Islamic Courts Union said Friday they have evidence that Al-Shabab Terrorist group was behind the recent killings of prominent officials who were killed in Mogadishu and said that they will protect them. Somali jehadist ex- usc member- Sheik Abdirahin Issa Adow, the spokesman of ICU forces told Shabelle webside . that Al-Shabaabwas behind the murder of MP shot dead in the capital on Wednesday Abdullahi Isse Abtidoon and Sharif Kariye who were members of ICU officers who were killed in Mogadishu for the last two days. “Al-shabab was also behind the assassination attempt of the interior minister Sheik Abdukadir Ali Omar. We have clarifications that Al-shabab is planning to carry out other actions of killing other ICU officials,” Sheik Abdirahim said. Speaking about the denial of Al-Shabab Sheik Abdirahim said that it was baseless and the denying it self is aggressions. He said that al-Shabab had phoned and warned MP Abdullahi Isse Abtidon and Sharif Kariye before they killed them. Sheik Abdirahin said lastly that they will not tolerate “the brutal actions that Al-shabab is committing” and that the Islamic Courts Union is giving the last chance to the respected Somali clerics and Hawiye traditional elders. The statement of the ICU spokesman comes as two of the ICU officers were killed near Warshadaha street in the Somali capital Mogadishu and it is the first time that ICU condemns Al-shabab that they were behind the recent assassination of their officers in the capital.
