SKELTON URGES PRESIDENT TO FIGHT PIRACY BY DENYING SAFE HAVEN IN SOMALIA

Washington, DC – In a letter to the President, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO) urged the administration to protect U.S. interests by denying safe haven for pirates along the coast of Somalia. Skelton also requested a meeting with administration officials to discuss the long-term options being considered for the U.S. and the international community to prevent piracy and promote governance and security in Somalia...The text of the letter is below and attached.
