“The Somali local Press is gagged” say AU spokesman

I've been saying it for years now The spokesman of the African Union in the Somali capital Mogadishu Major Barigye Bahouku has officially on Saturday said that the Somali local media has no total freedom to releases the fact. “I know myself there were several Somali journalists who were killed while they were performing their Journalism duty, some were threatened and have escaped from the country some were tortured, and the few remaining ones cannot say the fact about the Islamists, they know that will go on the route where their fellow journalists have gone, there are some shallow minded

who say that the African Union is behind the problem is Somali that is absolutely bogus we are here in Somalia for some few years, and the country has been in chaos for a period pf almost two decades when of course there were no AU troops on the ground, and opposition groups will be held liable for the Problems of Somalia” said Major Barigye Bahouku the spokesman of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) speaking to Somaliweyn radio on Saturday.

The spokesman has also added that if they are attacked it is sure that they will react, and that is what they have been trained to do, but said that they will react in a very systematic and militarily way, not harming the innocent people.

“We know what we are doing and were are targeting the Somali people are our brothers we never came here to kill them, but to salvage them, there were some speculations that AMISOM troops shell Bakara market, but Frankly speaking we don’t do that” added Bahouku. Eventually the spokesman has denounced the Somali local Media for not reporting the fact, just because fearing for their lives.
