Some clan elders attended a workshop organized by al Shabaab in Mogadishu and the Shabaab officials told the elders to practice the Islamic Sharia. Many Somali people are against how al Shabaab interpreted the Islamic Sharia. Separately, residents in Jowhar town about 90 km north of Mogadishu say they saw hundreds of al Shabaab fighters armed with heavy machineguns and about 50 battle wagons heading to central regions of Somalia. The move comes as al Shabaab was routed in heavy fighting that took place in Dhusamareb town in central Somalia. The bodies of more al Shabaab fighters were displayed in Dhusamareb by Ahlu Sunna Walajamaca fighters.
