DHUSAMAREB (TF.SF)—Calm has returned to Dhusamareb, the provincial capital of Galgaduud region in central Somalia, witnesses and officials said on Sunday.

Fighters from Ahlu Waljamaca have fully retaken the control of the town from al Shbaab Militants who attacked the town yesterday.

Ahlu Sunna has imposed a curfew on the town last night. The spokesman of Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca, Sheikh Aba Yusuf Al qadi, said their forces were still chasing the al Shabaab fighters to south of Dhusamreb and added that they will not return back until they reach their base.



On the hand, the death toll of the fighting has increased. At least 40 people including civilians and combatants were killed in the fighting.

Residents say al shabaab has beheaded two men in the town when they seized yesterday. Locals say Al Shabaab also left their dead bodies in the streets of Dhusamareb.
