Ethiopian delegation in tour of US,..Ethiopian Community Meeting In Los Angeles


Addis Ababa, April 12 (WIC) - A high level Ethiopian delegation headed by Abdulaziz Mohamed, Deputy President of the Oromia state is currently touring the US to apprise members of the Ethiopian Diaspora on topical issues pertaining to development, investment and the on-going election process which is due to consummate by the end of the third week of May 2010.


According to ethjournal, the four-man strong team made its maiden briefing in the ballroom of the Embassy of Ethiopia in the capital to a packed audience of Ethiopian Diaspora congregation domiciling in and around the Washington Metropolitan Area in the afternoon hours on Saturday April 10 2010.  
The leader of the high-powered delegation  Abdulaziz  brought to the fore  a succinct elaboration of the conducive  socio- economic and political environment  that is investment- friendly obtaining in the country and the impressive strides that Ethiopia has registered to-date in all fields elevating its stature to a higher level as a nation to reckon with.   

The Deputy President also dwelt at length on the upcoming May 2010 national and regional election which is presently in full gamut with the active participation of all contending political parties, other stake holders and the public at large with a determined stand of the government to make the election fair, free, democratic and credible.
In this regard he noted that election observers both local and foreign are gearing themselves up towards that end.   

Other members of the delegation also brought to the attention of the attendees the measures that have been put in place to facilitate and encourage Diaspora engagement in all ventures of national development investment and the transfer of skill, knowledge, technology networking and other enabling resources.    

The delegation continued its sojourn on Sunday and convened a meeting with massive members of the Ethiopian community residing in Atlanta and its environs.
