Man Sentenced To Nearly 29 Years In Murder Of Tacoma Cabbie

TACOMA, Wash. — A man convicted of killing a Somali cab driver was sentenced to nearly 29 years in prison Monday.

Jaycee Fuller killed cab driver Mohamud Ahmed during a robbery in Tacoma in March 2009.

Prosecutors said at the time of the murder, Fuller had lost his job as a cab driver and was often heard blaming foreigners for taking American jobs. Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said because of those resentments, Fuller targeted 22-year-old Ahmed, who moved to the U.S. from Somalia several years before his death..more..
