NAIROBI (TF.SF ) Media Network has Friday received a document
assuring that an illegal weapons have been smuggled into the breakaway republic of Somaliland and deployed to parts of southern Somalia and neighboring countries.

Hussein Kenyati, former Somaliland’s intelligence chief had explained more about the document to Shabelle radio that he had quitted his job saying that more top officials of Somaliland had brought outlaw weapons to Somaliland and then deploy to the horn and the east African countries.

Mr. Kayati said that he decided to leave from his position as he could not tolerate the close relation and collaboration between Somaliland Ethiopian government.

The official said that he was accused for not working with the Ethiopian government for any how it needed. Mr. Hessein said in a statement that the foreign affairs minister of Somaliland Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi had returned from the Ethiopian capital Addis Abababa.

He said Somaliland’s delegation led by the minister was not highly welcomed in Ethiopia saying that Ethiopian government said that it was not happy for my position in Somaliland and decided to leave the office.

Copy of the document received by Shabelle said that the plan was masterminded by Yodhado Abdeta, the former representative of Ethiopia in Hargeisa in 2000 to 2006 adding that it was handed to Mr. Yodhado and former foreign affairs minister of the region Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Duale who is in Ethiopia.

The statement said that those who had sent the massage were part of group involving deployment of unlawful weapons on the ports of Somaliland then send to the neighboring countries as Kenya, Ethiopia, southern Sudan and southern regions of Somalia adding that the weapons was from Yemen.

The weapons include AK47 rifles, rocket propelled grenades, pistols and other explosive things. The statement indicated that more officials including former Somaliland president Dahir Rayale Kahin, former foreign affairs minister Abdullahi Mohamed Dualle, Boqor Burmadow, one of the elders of Somaliland and Ethiopia’s Yodhado Abdeta were all involved the deploying processes of weapons in the region.

Shabelle had tried to contact with the people accused Mr. Keyati, but was not possible to get them through the telephone so far.
