Speaking to the Press in Mogadishu, Mr Fiqi said Guinea, Sierra Leone and Djibouti were willing to donate troops to Amisom.He added that Sierra Leone was almost ready to send troops in the coming days.
The minister gave the briefing on return from the meeting of ministers of Defence of present and future Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) to Amisom in Addis Ababa on March 17.
Meanwhile, Islamic radicals al-Shabaab have blamed Kenya for allegedly participating in fierce battles that took place on Sunday morning on the Somalia side of Dhobley border town.
The spokesman on military operations of al-Shabaab, Sheikh Abdulaziz Abu Musab, said the residents of the strategic town on Sunday woke up to a fierce battle between the pro-government forces and their opponents.
Would take revenge
The radical Islamist group is vehemently opposed to the Transitional Federal Government in Somalia.
Reports indicated that TFG and its ally, the Ras Kamboni Brigade, a militia group lead by Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam alias Sheikh Ahmed Madobe, had waged attacks on al-Shabaab authority there.
Later in the day, al-Shabaab spokesman claimed victory, stating that his militias repelled the pro-government assaults. He added that Kenyan forces took part in the heavy clashes, fighting alongside the government forces.
On February 27, Sheikh Ali Mohamoud Raghe alias Sheikh Ali Dhere, the Chief Spokesman of al-Shabaab, accused Kenya of being behind every trouble in some Somali regions bordering its territory.
Singling out Juba and Gedo as some of the affected regions, Sheikh Dhere vowed that his group would take revenge.
