The pro-government militias of Ahlu Sunna Wal-jama’a have re-seized Dusamareb district, the capital of Galgadud region from Al Shabab militias yesterday evening.A witness who spoke to terror free somalia confirmed that Ahlu Sunna militias have regained the control of the town after Al Shabab briefly took the control of the town yesterday.Heavily armed militias of Ahlu Sunna made a surge, which has caused Al Shabab to abandon the town.Residents say calm has returned to the town, though there is fear that fight might erupt again in the town as Al Shabab militias are still in the outskirts of the town.
Al Shabab has briefly captured the town from Ahlu Sunna after heavy fighting which left five people dead. Reports add that Al Shabab has plundered the houses of popular Ahlu Sunna Sheikhs, offices of local NGO and International aid agencies.
