Tension is high in Afmadow district of Lower Jubba region following the arrival of Al Shabab militias who fled from yesterday’s fighting between them and Pro TFG troops in areas surrounding the town.
The militias were seen forcibly taking away the young men and ordering them to take part in what they termed as defending the town.The leader of Al Shabab in Afmadow, Muse Lafole said to the public that they expect attacks from forces supporting the Transitional Federal government in a bid to take over the region.Pro government soldiers took control of some of villages near to Afmadow in yesterday’s fighting where Al Shabab were formerly in control.Residents in Afmadow are worried that a possible clash between Al Shabab and the Pro TFG forces could cause civilian casualties and disrupt daily activities and usual business.Al Shabab militias recently lost ground to pro-government forces in parts of Lower Jubba region.

Air strike kills 4 and others wounded in Hobyo
At least four Habar -gidir Hawiye Pirates are believed to have been killed and eight others wounded in an air strike carried out by unknown helicopter on a small boat sailing in the coast of Hobyo town in Mudug region.The police commisioner of Hobyo confirmed the air strike while speaking to media that an aircraft which took off from a naval warship carried out the air attack on the boat.The commissioner said those who died were mostly fishermen and sustained the casualties after the boat, which was in hot pursuit, fled towards the shore.Ali Mohamed confirmed that there are no pirates in the coast of Hobyo and that no ship is being held there.No group has yet claimed responsibility of the air strike
