Somali PM visits Mogadishu battle-zones (Pictures)

The newly appointed Somalia Prime Minister, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, on Saturday toured Mogadishu’s front lines and met with Transitional Federal Government (TFG) forces backed by the African Peacekeeping Forces (AMISOM).On his first visit to the front lines as prime minister, he toured Wadnaha Street to the Sheikh Biyamalow Mosque, Bakara junction, Kasapopolare Street, and residential areas of Hodan where he met with military officials“I am happy to meet with you at the frontline sharing ideas and viewpoints. We are committed to supporting the army by any means to evict those who are against peace and tranquility,” he told members of the TFG army.General abdulkadir Sheikh ali Dini  the Commander Somali Army force told terror free Somalia  that the TFG forces will continue fighting against al-Shabaab. “We will not stop fighting the al-Shabaab insurgents until we confirm the security and restore stability in the country,” the defense minister said.
Military officials at the frontlines were delighted by the prime minister’s visit and said that this could enhance the spirit and morale of the troops.“It is an important opportunity to meet with the prime minister to discuss on the ongoing operations as well as our concerns,”  Abdikadir somali  army  Commander told tf.sf at the front lines.Government forces have besieged the Bakara Market, a main stronghold of al-Shabaab, and have taken back several key positions in Hodan and Hawlwadag districts in south Mogadishu as well as districts north Mogadishu.The prime minister of Somali transitional federal government of Somalia on Saturday paid a fleeting important visit to some of Mogadishu battle-fields.Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali observed the military trenches of Somali government forces and African Union peacekeepers in the junctions of Howlwadag, Bakara, Tarabunka and the building of former defense ministry in Benadir region.Speaking in a news conference held in the building of former defense ministry, the premier mentioned that the government is committed to keep on combat operations against Al shabaab fighters.He said the government troops backed by AMISOM will take control of Mogadishu in the days to come.Shedding a light his government’s priority, Ali said Somali forces will be nicely taken care of them.It is the fist such visit to pay to since he was named to be the prime minister of Somalia last month
