The Prime Minister of Somalia visits Bad-baado camp

The Prime Minister of Somalia Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali visited Bad-baado camp in Mogadishu following an incident of looting food aid. Bad-baado camp is one of new camps for Internally Displaced People (IDPs) which is home for 4,500 families. The Prime Minister had meeting with security agencies and he received preliminary report on the incident.


As a result of today’s incident  involved in individual wearing  Banadir region police uniform  the Prime Minister of Somalia Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali with somali government  army commander General    Abduladir Sheikh ali Dini  and other government officials visited the Bad-baado camp and held press conference at the camp and stated the following: “I am very pleased to be here in Bad-baado camp to see the humanitarian assistance in operation as well as to see Internally Displaced People and how they are settling in the camp. However, I am very sorry to learn today’s incident of looting food aid. This is a criminal and my Government will never tolerate such crime to take place in one of the IDPs camp.I have appointed a committee to fully investigate the incident with a view to bringing those responsible to justice. The Mayor of Mogadishu, the Police Commissioner and the Chief Intelligence will lead the investigation. “I have also asked our security forces to ensure that the camp is fully protected at all times. The protection of civilians and in particular IDPs is very important to us and my Government will do everything possible to help its citizens. “I am very happy for the immediate action of TFG forces immediately arriving at the scene and stopping looting as well as recovering some of the food aid that was looted. The management of the camp and the security situation of the camp will be reviewed to ensure that the camp is anaged very well.”

The Prime Minister of Somalia Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali visited Bad-baado camp in Mogadishu following an incident of looting food aid. The Prime Minister had meeting with security agencies and he received preliminary report on the incident.

As a result of today’s incident the Prime Minister of Somalia Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali visited the Bad-baado camp and held press conference at the camp and stated the following:
