The administration of Al-Shabab Al-Qida proxy in Jowhar town the headquarters of middle Shabelle region Somalia has amputated the hands and legs of three juveniles.The three juveniles were earlier detained by Al-Shabab on allegations that they have intercepted and robbed a bus travelling in between the locations under their authority. Each of these biys has missed his right hand and his left
leg.The names of these boys are Hassan Siyaad Mohamed, Abdullah Farah Barqad and
Hassan Mowlem Farey.“Hundreds of the local residents of Jowhar town have attended to witness the
chopping off the hands of three boys, who the Al-shabab have said that they were caught robbing travelers” said Noor Ismacil a local resident in Jowhar town speaking to Somaliweyn website.

The cutting off the hands of these young men was conducted in an open football ground, which is no more practiced football or another physical exercises, because Al-Shabab considers all physical exercises as wastage of time and futile.A part from the local residents, there were also some of the top middle shabelle regional officers on the ground.

The regional judge who has passed out the final verdict of cutting off the hands and legs of these boys was as well present at the venue where the amputation was taking place, and has said few words just before the amputation
was conducted.

“These young handsome boys who are here in front of you are thugs and have robbed 3,400 Somali shillings two cell-phones, from travelers on their way, and they have confessed to have done the act, thus the final result of their act is that they should be cross amputated” said Sheikh Yussuf Hassan Barow.


Sometimes in 2009 Al-Shabab has conducted similar amputation on 4 young men in Mogadishu, since Al-Shabab has taken control of several regions in Somalia mainly in the south it has conducted horrific penalties, and among this which haunts the brains of all Somalis is the stoning to death a 13 years old girl in the southern seaport town of Kismayo, they said that the call has committed
adultery.

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A witness in Somalia says al-Qaida-linked militants in the country have cut off a hand and a leg each from three men convicted of robbery in a town near the capital.A self-described judge named Sheik Yusuf Hassan Barow told more than 100 spectators that the three had admitted to the crimes and that the court sentenced them to cross amputations.
Witness Mukhtar Ali said Tuesday four masked men with long knifes executed the punishment in the agricultural town of Jowhar, 55 miles (90 kilometers) from the capital Mogadishu.
The men ranged in age from 18 to 31.
Al-Shabab is Somalia's most hardline group and uses public executions, amputations and floggings as means to coerce the public into submission.
